What are the benefits of vitamin A for skin?
Vitamin A is recognised as the skin’s most essential nutrient — playing a vital role in normalising skin cell activity, including cell regeneration, hydration levels, sebum secretion, skin tone and the visible signs of ageing. By restoring optimal levels of Vitamin A to the skin, we are essentially re-educating skin cells to behave like healthier, younger cells — revealing a visibly healthier, more radiant complexion. This makes Vitamin A the cornerstone ingredient in addressing the appearance of premature ageing, dehydration, breakout-prone skin and uneven skin tone, and why it remains at the heart of every Environ formula.
Can I add Environ® products to my current skincare brand of choice?
Environ® products are carefully designed to work together as a complete professional skincare system. While some products can be added to your current skincare routine, we recommend using a full Environ® routine as the formulations complement one another and work together towards creating beautiful, healthy-looking skin.
How does the STEP-UP-SYSTEM™ work?
The Vitamin STEP-UP-SYSTEM™ is designed to gradually introduce increasing concentrations of vitamin A to your skin. It all starts with the first moisturiser that contains the lowest level of vitamin A. Once you have used 2 to 3 bottles and your skin is fully acclimated to the concentration you move up to the next moisturiser with a medium vitamin A concentration, continuing the same process until your skin is acclimated to the moisturiser which contains the highest vitamin A levels. This Start Low, Go Slow approach helps to minimise irritation while optimising the long-term benefits of vitamin A.

What forms of vitamin A do you use?
Environ® uses a variety of vitamin A forms to ensure that the skin has the best opportunity to normalise itself. This is achieved with using a variety of Retinoids – Retinyl Propionate, Retinyl Palmitate, Retinyl Acetate and Retinol.
The inclusion of the plant form of vitamin A – Beta carotene – is harnessed as a potent antioxidant to combat free radical damage.

Environ® uses Bovine colostrum to assist with calming and soothing the skin, boosting the skin immunity and assist with stimulating growth factors.
Do any of your products contain nuts?
Environ® uses Mandelic Acid which is manufactured synthetically. There is no risk to a nut allergy. Synthetically manufactured oil is safe and cannot cause allergic reaction in individuals sensitised to nut proteins. If you have an allergy or intolerance to any ingredient including nuts, we will always recommend checking the “Full Ingredient” listing on the relevant product page to find out more.
My skin feels dry after using a product, what should I do?
Some initial dryness may occur as the skin adapts to vitamin A, this is considered a normal response. This may be due to previous use of thicker textured creams. With continued use of Environ® vitamin A the skin will start producing its own natural moisturising factors (NMF’s). Slight flaking of the skin may also be seen as the skin “shed’s” or “sloughs “off dead skin cells as it normalises the cell turn over.
I am experiencing blemishes since I started using the products, what should I do?
A slight breakout may occur as the skin adapts to vitamin A, this is considered a normal response. The skin is now normalising and cell turnover is taking place – this means that the dead skin cells sitting on the surface of the skin is “shed’s” or “sloughs “off , otherwise known as desquamation. The underlying congestion is what is seen as a breakout. Continue with Environ® skin preparation and Environ® vitamin A moisturisers.

What is the impact of hormones on skin during pregnancy?
The hormonal and physiological changes that come with pregnancy are unique. Expecting mothers experience dramatic increases in hormones such as oestrogen and progesterone which can have various influences on the skin. One of the most common skin changes during pregnancy is an increase in oil production – excess oil may lead to breakouts and even acne if you’re predisposed to the skin condition.
Hormones may also trigger pigmentation changes, resulting in patches of skin discolouration, dark spots, melasma, as well as increased sensitivity of the skin. Many pregnant women experience redness, irritation, and dryness. Consider switching to or introducing products that balance and promote moisture components in the skin.
Is vitamin A safe to use during pregnancy & breastfeeding?
When it comes to pregnancy skincare, it is vital to choose products that are safe for both you and your baby. As experts in professional skincare and based on scientific facts, it is extremely unlikely that topical cosmetic vitamin A skincare products could pose a health risk or a risk to pregnancy because the active molecules are not absorbed into the bloodstream. This is not the same as taking vitamin A orally where absorption into the bloodstream is part of the natural biological process. We do recommend consulting with your doctor or skincare professional for personalised advice and recommendations.
How to reduce the appearance of oiliness and breakouts during pregnancy?
Sebaceous glands are known to go into overdrive during pregnancy due to hormonal changes which may cause increased sebum production resulting in congestion, bacterial growth, inflammation, breakouts and in some cases flare ups of acne. If you’re experiencing any if these signs, it is essential to seek the advice of your doctor and skincare professional to establish a gentle and consistent skincare routine. Avoid harsh cleansers that can strip the skin of its natural oils and consider introducing products with intelligent ingredients to help control oiliness and reduce breakouts. It is crucial to avoid picking or squeezing pimples, as this can lead to scarring.
Environ’s Focus Care Clarity+® Range is a simple 3-phase system that is designed to clean, control and clear the appearance of breakouts.
How to prevent or improve the appearance of stretch marks and scars during pregnancy?
Stretch marks are a common concern for many pregnant women. These marks are known to appear when the skin stretches rapidly, causing collagen and elastin damage. While it is challenging to prevent stretch marks entirely, there are steps you can take to minimise their appearance.
Keeping the skin enriched with ingredients such as vitamin A (shown to promote NMF’s (natural moisturising factors) as well as collagen + elastin synthesis), antioxidants, shea butter, jojoba seed oil, and moisturising AHA’s can help improve skin elasticity and reduce the severity of stretch marks. It is also essential to maintain a healthy diet and stay hydrated to support the skin’s overall health.
Environ® recommends using the Body EssentiA® Body Oil, together with the Derma-Lac® Lotion. You can also safely introduce Micro-Needling Technology with the Cosmetic Body Roll-CIT® or Cosmetic Roll-CIT® before applying the Body Oil to intensify the ingredient benefits. On the days when you’re micro-needling, avoid using the Derma-Lac Lotion. It is always important to consult with your medical or skincare professional to discuss your options.

How to improve the appearance of post-pregnancy scars?
How to improve the signs of skin discolouration, pigmentation and melasma?
Oestrogen, progesterone and particularly melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH) are shown to increase during the third trimester of pregnancy which may result in, what women commonly experience as “the mask of pregnancy” or melasma. Besides hormones, exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light from the sun can stimulate melanocyte cells to produce pigment which is why keeping sun exposure to a minimum and applying a daily effective broad-spectrum low SPF sunscreen is essential.
UV exposure is also the key contributor to the deficiency of essential skin nutrients such as vitamin A (skin normalising vitamin), C and E. These are essential free-radical fighting antioxidants. Environ’s Focus Care Radiance+® Range is based on the revolutionary 3-Step Mela-Smart System™ which includes innovative products that help to inhibit the 6 complex steps involved in the formation of hyperpigmentation. For optimal results, you should combine the Radiance+ Range with your daily Vitamin STEP-UP SYSTEM® routine.
